While São Paulo is known for its commercial ties to creativiy, in Rio a more friendly and communal approach tends to unity artists and designer towards more experimental projects. That’s how Comuna, a 283m2 house located in the Bota Fogo neighborhood, came about. The main goal is to explore each and every vacant space in the most multiple ways possible. Be it co-working offices, shared ateliers at the upper floor, a garage like gallery on the backyard or a living room entirely dedicated for new designers to present and sell their creations, proposing a true immersion in the designer creative process. With Rio fashion week (aka Fashion Rio) just about to begin, Comuna comes as a project truly devoted to young, fresh and new creative forces, something quite absent form the runways of Fashion Rio.
