DAVID KOMA GREYHOUND HEELS (AW12)

by RAFAEL CARVALHO

Aristocratic racing dogs set the tone of David Koma’s strong
winter collection, presented this February on London Fashion
Week. Deco-fresh style and prints were inspired by the
paintings of French artist Louis Icart (1880-1950). It was the
greyhound heels created by designer Alain Quilici, though,
which stole the show. The carved small dogs replace the usual
foundations and give support for the shoes, ranging from
stainless steel to pantone blue. Playing an additional edge, the
boots feature unusual transparencies, which we just loved.
